News: October
Dear Creative C Community,
Welcome to October!
This month, we welcome World Mental Health Day on October 10th, focusing on the theme, 'Meaningful Connections Matter". This day is devoted to fostering an understanding of mental health and advocating for education and awareness. It’s important to educate ourselves around mental health issues and emphasise everyone's role in constructing a mentally healthy and supportive society, free from stigma.
Sending waves of warmth and creativity your way,
The Creative C Team.
Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month:
Mental Health Month with The Creative C: 'Meaningful Connections Matter’.
Every year, October is packed with the energy of Mental Health Month, stretching from the 1st until the 31st. At The Creative C, we're dedicated to harnessing this spirit to shed light on the transformative power of the arts.
Why do we celebrate Mental Health Month? Mental Health Month is more than a mere observance. It’s a mission to accentuate the essence of mental well-being and its role in enriching lives. Throughout this month, we champion the arts' potential to heal and connect, celebrating the artists, therapists, and programmes that have sculpted the mental health landscape. Our team at The Creative C believes in the magic of the artistic process, and this month lets us amplify that belief by sharing the Creative C love.
2024's theme, ‘Meaningful Connections Matte’, resonates deeply with our philosophy. It's about personal reflection and the care of others - at work, in art, in therapy, and in life. It's an invitation to get attuned to oneself and the wider canvas of the world. We urge you to focus, build self-awareness, and create connections through our workshops, online courses, and blog articles designed to enhance these possibilities.
Engage with The Creative C this Mental Health Month: Ready to immerse yourself? The Creative C offers many opportunities:
Participate in our transformative workshops, where art meets mindfulness.
Enrol in our online courses, making mental well-being accessible wherever you are.
Read our blog articles, penned with care, offering fresh perspectives on mental wellness and the arts.
Share, learn, and grow with our team, who are dedicated to weaving art, therapy, and the creative process to help individuals find balance.
Whether you’re seeking a transformative experience, or tools for self-exploration, The Creative C can be a sanctuary. Our team, fuelled by passion and expertise, is dedicated to helping individuals find balance and transformation through art, art therapy, and the creative process. Join us in our mission this Mental Health Month and beyond.

There's something about being in the creative studio alongside others which makes the Art & Soul time beautiful. It is a welcoming creative space to explore and share creativity in a variety of mediums. Spirit Doll Workshop: Witches
Needle felting class October 13th.
This Witch class will be filled with magical witches, cauldron's and spring blessings.
This is a beginners and intermediate needle felting class, so if you've never needle felted this one is for you. And if you have, a great place to keep learning.
Your spirit doll will be made using beautiful Corriedale wool and silk blends by needle felting techniques. You can choose crystals from a selection provided to embed into your doll. There will also be other beautiful things to place on and inside your doll, such as dried flowers.
This practice of doll making can be a playful sacred experience that allows us to connect with ourselves in a deeper way, setting intentions, manifesting and healing all while sharing and crafting. Making dolls can also be a doorway into connecting with our inner child. Creating space for playfulness, laughter and giggles, joy, imagination, and just having a break from "adulting" for a while.
I welcome you into an all inclusive safe container where you're welcome to come exactly as you're.
Non alcoholic refreshments and nibbles provided. This is a day to pamper yourself, spend time with other people and just rest in some creative space.
Workshop price includes all materials.

C-SAW Group
Expression of Interest to participate in a C- SAW Group
C-SAW emerged out of a need to collaborate and vision with other women. Bridget, the creator, initiated the group based on 4 guiding principles which organically became known by its acronym ‘C-SAW’
C- Collaboration / Creative
S- Support
A- Accountability
W- Witnessing
C-SAW (see-saw) also suggests the deep exploratory and often hilariously funny play ground where participants can enjoy freely creating and expressing held in the safety of the group.
The group meets once a month to collaborate using creative methods to find solutions to personal & professional challenges.
Via creative methods and processes one engages in the sacredness of allowing your own experience to guide you. The group aims to support participants to trust their own experience and develop their inner listener. In witnessing, we hold and allow the other’s own journey to be as it is.
‘It has been so wonderful to witness each member creatively discover their deepest truth and then to live this out in their lives in a genuine and ongoing way. We witness each other and support each other during this process.’ - Group participant
If you have a group of associates, friends, colleagues, or connections and would like a refreshing way of connecting, perhaps you may like to C-SAW. If you feel called to share this wonderful way of gathering connect with us at info@creativec.com.au

Featured Artist: The Art Therapy project
This month we look at 'The Art Therapy Project', a non-profit organisation that provides free, group-based art therapy to individuals affected by trauma. Their mission is to help people heal through the creative process of art, offering a safe and supportive environment where participants can express themselves, process emotions, and build resilience. The organisation works with various populations, including veterans, survivors of sexual violence, at-risk youth, and others who have experienced trauma. Through evidence-based art therapy practices led by licensed therapists, they aim to foster emotional healing, self-discovery, and empowerment for their clients.
Additionally, The Art Therapy Project hosts workshops, exhibitions, and events that highlight the transformative power of art therapy and raise awareness about mental health and trauma recovery. Their services are rooted in the belief that creativity can be a powerful tool for change and healing.
I encourage you to take a look at this wonderful organisation.

A Glimpse Into Our Upcoming Blog
Reflections on Creativity and Why Art Matters
Over the years, I’ve witnessed something magical happen when people gather in groups. It’s easy to think of group activities as incidental—we join because of a shared interest, and in the process, we find ourselves part of a community. But there’s so much more to it than that.
Coming soon on the Creative C blog!
