Celebrating International Women's Day 2024: Inspire Inclusion
This March, we shine a spotlight on International Women's Day (IWD) - a global celebration of the remarkable achievements of women in various fields, while also advocating for accelerated gender parity. Annually observed on March 8th, IWD is a pivotal moment to honour women's achievements, raise awareness for equality, advocate for positive advancements, and support female-focused charities.
In 2024, the campaign theme "Inspire Inclusion" calls on each of us to motivate and engage others in understanding the vital importance of women's inclusion in every aspect of life. It's about creating a world where women feel a strong sense of belonging, empowerment, and relevance.
Join us as we embrace the #InspireInclusion campaign, aiming to build a more inclusive world for women everywhere. From campaigns and events to celebrations and performances, every action counts towards forging gender equality.
Together, let's inspire change and celebrate the incredible impact of women around the globe.

Featured Artist: Firelei Báez
In the vibrant art world, few voices resonate as distinctly as that of Firelei Báez, a Dominican Republic-born talent, now illuminating New York City with her art. Firelei Báez, celebrated for her detailed works on paper, canvas, and breathtaking large-scale sculptures, has a unique way of weaving untold stories and amplifying unheard voices through her art. Her pieces, rich in portraiture, landscape, and intricate design, challenge and reinterpret the Western canon, inviting viewers into a dialogue about identity, heritage, and resilience.
Firelei Báez's remarkable journey from Santiago de Los Caballeros to the heart of New York's art scene is a testament to her dedication and passion for art. Educated at Cooper Union and Hunter College, her academic background laid the foundation for a career that defies traditional boundaries and embraces a global perspective. Her work has graced prestigious venues like the New Museum in New York, Tate Modern in London, and the Pérez Art Museum Miami, showcasing her ability to speak to a wide audience.
Her installations and paintings discuss themes of Afrofuturism, inspired by figures like Octavia E. Butler, and explore racial and class structures through a blend of cultural symbols, folklore, and personal narrative. Firelei Báez's commitment to social commentary is evident in her series, such as the powerful "Can I Pass?" which confronts racial discrimination through self-portraiture.
Among her notable contributions is the mesmerising glass mosaic at the 163 St-Amsterdam Avenue subway station in New York, a celebration of Caribbean heritage and a reflection on community identity. Firelei Báez's art is more than visual beauty; it's a call to recognise and honour the stories that shape us, making her a beacon for contemporary art and activism.
