Image to Symbol:
Expressive Play with Collage

This workshop guides you though the creative process to make an intimate book or set of cards unique and personal to you. It aims to expand your awareness while settling you into a mindful state of being. Based on Jungian psychology and Senea Frost’s Soul Collage, this visual journey will nurture your personal growth, strengthen your intuition and recognise your innate wisdom.

In whatever stage of life you may find your self, collating images into a personal artwork in the company of others is a joyful and rewarding way to nourish and expand your self-understanding for greater acceptance.

SoulCollage with Seena B. Frost

We invite you to explore the transformative practice of SoulCollage, founded by Seena B. Frost. This expressive arts method nurtures creativity and intuition, fostering self-discovery and personal guidance. It's accessible to everyone, regardless of artistic ability, and can be practiced individually or within a community. I think It can meet you wherever you are on your life journey, offering profound insights and enjoyment.

I have engaged in the process of SoulCollage as a personal practice since 2009. Over the years, I have created more than 100 cards and continue to do so. The process feels like conscious dreaming, allowing images to speak and form relationships on the card. As I reflect on the different elements and images, their meanings begin to unfold, much like interpreting a dream. Often, these cards are prophetic, making sense weeks or even months later.

Please join me for this wonderful process on July 13th and experience the magic of SoulCollage!

C-SAW Group

Expression of Interest to participate in a C- SAW Group

C-SAW emerged out of a need to collaborate and vision with other women.  Bridget, the creator, initiated the group based on 4 guiding principles which organically became known by its acronym ‘C-SAW’

C- Collaboration / Creative
S- Support
A- Accountability
W- Witnessing

C-SAW (see-saw) also suggests the deep exploratory and often hilariously funny play ground where participants can enjoy freely creating and expressing held in the safety of the group.

The group meets once a month to collaborate using creative methods to find solutions to personal & professional challenges.

Via creative methods and processes one engages in the sacredness of allowing your own experience to guide you. The group aims to support participants to trust their own experience and develop their inner listener. In witnessing, we hold and allow the other’s own journey to be as it is.

‘It has been so wonderful to witness each member creatively discover their deepest truth and then to live this out in their lives in a genuine and ongoing way.  We witness each other and support each other during this process.’ - Group participant

If you have a group of associates, friends, colleagues, or connections and would like a refreshing way of connecting, perhaps you may like to C-SAW. If you feel called to share this wonderful way of gathering connect with us at info@creativec.com.au

Embrace Winter with Mandala Colouring

This winter, consider immersing yourself in the soothing practice of colouring hand-drawn mandalas. This mindful activity offers a lot more than just a creative outlet. It can serve as a meditative process that can help you feel more centred, calm, and present. I love colouring mandalas and for me it allows me to slow down and focus, fostering a state of mindfulness that reduces stress.

As you fill in these beautiful intricate patterns, you engage in a form of what’s called ‘active meditation’. This practice helps you observe your thoughts without judgement, leading to a deeper understanding of your inner desires and emotions. The repetitive, rhythmic motion of colouring can be incredibly grounding, providing a sense of stability and peace during these colder months. It also offers a unique way to connect with your creativity, bringing a sense of fulfilment and joy. Something lovely to hang on the wall perhaps.

So, I think we should all take a moment this winter to breathe colour and life into a mandala. You can find them here on our store page, they are all currently A4 in size and we will be adding more options over the coming weeks.

Happy colouring :)

Feature Artist: Nancy Spero

I have always been inspired by the incredible work of Nancy Spero. Nancy was a trailblazer in feminist art. Her powerful pieces, created with raw intensity on paper and also as installations, boldly challenge the ubiquitous abuse of power, Western privilege, and male dominance in this world. Her work has been an unapologetic statement against these injustices. Nancy’s art often draws on historical and contemporary events, such as the torture of women, the Holocaust, and War.

I think her work is a testament to the enduring power of art to provoke thought, inspire change, and champion justice. If you haven't explored her work yet, I highly recommend diving into the world she created.

You can find more about her in a short video here

A Glimpse Into Our Upcoming Blog

Reflections on Creativity and Why Art Matters

For me, art and creativity connects us with our unique individual selves and I have witnessed countless times the amazing outcomes of creative engagement, where the discovery of one's unique relationship with oneself is affirmed, consolidated, and available to be offered to the world. This is my deeper motivation, and for me, why art matters more than ever.

Coming soon on the Creative C blog!

Thanks for reading :)
